Throughout the first half of 2014, Leighton Properties has seen strong interest in its available and upcoming retail space, across all projects.
"Looking to Western Australia, the retail component for Kings Square is going well and we expect to secure tenants for the 15 available retail spaces by the end of the year. For all of the upcoming Perth City Link, we are looking to secure some key anchor tenants including a major supermarket, gymnasium, and cinema operator." said Mr Andi Avdyl, National Retail Leasing Manager.
In Victoria, we are close to securing nearly 50 per cent of the retail tenancies for 567 Collins Street, Melbourne, and are exploring expressions of interest from an international gymnasium group and cinema operator for our residential project, Moonee Ponds, also in Victoria.
In New South Wales, Green Square Town Centre, Sydney has received strong interest in the supermarket space within its first stage, of which we expect to finalise by September of this year.
At 177 Pacific Highway, North Sydney there has been a great deal of early interest in the ground floor retail space, where we hope to secure a café operator, restaurant and bar operator, and take-away operator.
Directly adjacent to the Bondi Junction Westfield Shopping Centre in Sydney, there has been no surprise that AQUA has received overwhelming interest in its available seven retail spaces on ground floor. We’ll be taking this project to market
by the end of the year.
Our more recent projects, Macquarie Street in Parramatta and Section 63 in Canberra, have achieved firm interest from a number of supermarket operators.
In Queensland, we are finalising all leasing for Mosaic, located within Brisbane’s vibrant valley precinct, as well as within Hamilton Harbour.
